"O Mio Babbino Caro"

"O mio babbino caro" (Oh, my dearest papa) is one of the famous arias from the opera "Gianni Schicchi" by the Italian composer "Giacomo Puccini", and it is emotionally overwhelming. I am no expert on opera, but I actually felt a wave of emotions that shook my soul when listening to Maria Callas singing "O mio babbino caro",. I believe this is a testament to her matured expeiences and greatness as an artist. As we all know, "O mio babbino caro” was featured in many Hollywood movies, from A Room With A View to Mr Bean's Holyday. It doesn't matter what people say...There is ONLY ONE and UNIQUE DIVINA and She is Maria Callas...FOREVER. Viva La Davina!!!!

O mio babbino caro,
mi piace è bello, bello;
vo'andare in Porta Rossa
a comperar l'anello!
Sì, sì, ci voglio andare!
e se l'amassi indarno,
andrei sul Ponte Vecchio,
ma per buttarmi in Arno!
Mi struggo e mi tormento!
O Dio, vorrei morir!

Babbo, pietà, pietà!
Babbo, pietà, pietà

(English Translation)

Oh dear daddy
I love him, he is so handsome
I want to go to Porta Rossa
to buy the ring
Yes, yes, I want to go there
And if my love were in vain
I would go to Ponte Vecchio
and throw myself in the Arno
I fret and suffer torments
Oh God, I would rather die

Daddy, have pity, have pity
Daddy, have pity, have pity
